I've been trying to get people to go to the Olympics with me and not too many people seem down to go so I thought I would post an ad and see if anybody in the area is interested in the thought of going...

I was telling people on FB, we could be sipping latte's with a snowboarder from Sweden, or do shots of Jager with a figure skater from the Ukraine and so on...
I plan to ride Whistler at least one day, I'm not super concerned about seeing specific events (cost wise) but I would like to shred Whistler for a day, have some fun in the Olympic village and tour around Vancouver. Obviously you will need your passport to make the trip. I will go alone but gas and a place to stay is a lot less divided by 2 or 3 in contrast to going alone.

Also, I have been working at Meadows the past two seasons one day during the weekend but I got a season pass this year so I'm wondering if anybody is looking to ride share, switch cars, or split gas etc. I have 4x4 so I'm set as far as that goes. We can take runs together or go our separate ways, it doesn't matter. I'm 30 yrs old, 6'4, traveled the world and driven across country, I'm laid back and like to have fun, send me a message and tell me about yourself and we'll see what happens.

We are Shibumi, a competitive mixed recreational team (this means we want to win and we practice hard, but we also have a lot of fun - ask anyone who knows us - they'll tell you)

We're looking to add a few more folks for next season. No experience necessary (bonus if you've paddled before, though). All you do need is the desire to kick ass and take names, and if that doesn't work out a strong desire to shake it off in the beer garden with us is preferred.

We'll be doing a series of recruitment clinics this fall and winter. Come on down. Bring yourself in comfortable (rain resistant) clothes and a water bottle. We'll provide the paddle and life jacket.

Hello,

I am learning to play ice hockey in Vancouver (Mt View Arena) and would love to meet someone who is also learning or wouldn't mind showing me the secrets of ice hockey. I play street hockey in the summer, so I know the basics, but I'm trying to switch over to ice for the winter. I don't need lessons, I just need more experience on the ice but it isn't much fun out there by myself. I would like to try stick night on Friday nights and then maybe Pond hockey (I need to get full gear before that) and would love to go with someone who is learning as well or someone who wouldn't mind helping me along. I can ice skate okay (switching from rollerblades to ice skates is a little tough) but I'm athletic, so I pick things up fairly quickly. And I have my own helmet, skates and stick. Just trying to get into the sport so I can play in a league in late winter. Looking for someone who is nice and patient to help me out or someone who wants to learn with me! I am 29 and female and am willing to work/learn with anyone.

Tactical Airsoft Training 101 - Note this is NOT a firearms class!

The class being offered is a basic level course in airsoft weapons handling. The lead instructor is prior USMC infantry NCO, combat veteran, US military contractor, and NRA Certified Firearms Instructor. THere will be at lease one assistant instructor who is a NRA Certified Firearms Instructor to assist with training. The class will follow at minimum the course schedule below. More will be taught based on how quickly the group moves through the drills. Bring plenty of water!! Be prepared to be loud, motivated and have fun.

All airsoft guns will be checked before being let on the field before class starts. Max 350 FPS with .20 bbs. NO EXCEPTIONS!!

It all started when I turned 35 this july. I figured either get in shape...get a fast sports car...or get a 23 year old girlfriend. My wife told me I could never afford the last 2 options on that list so I went with what was behind door #1.

I've been working out 3-5x a week doing resistance training and I'm starting to feel like I'm getting reasonably fit.

I started doing short runs last week in an effort to start training for a few local triathlons that happen in the summer.

I was wondering if anyone might be interested in starting up a group dedicated to social competition in either marathons or triathlons?

Would be nice to find folks with similar interests and encourage eachother. Its kind of cheesy I know but what the hell?

I'm not like a fitness nut or anything. I don't take supplements and although I'm keeping an eye on what I eat a little bit more I still had a loaded pizza and some wings this weekend.

Sports & Recreation Connection's winter adult co-ed volleyball season is starting in January. Registration begins next week! You can put your own team together or sign up as a "free agent." We have 2 rec leagues (beginner and intermediate) and 1 competitive (experienced - advanced) league. This season we have 17 teams and anticipate many more next season. We play in the Fairview/Gresham area and games are Sunday afternoon/early evening (beginning plays Saturday early evening). Recreation leagues are $35 per person (1 hour per week + team t-shirt) and Competitive is $60 (2 matches per week + team tshirts, officials)

Sports & Recreation Connection is a Christian based league, but everyone is welcome. Players must be at least 18 years old or 16 with parent participation. If you want more information email tracy@ecsportsconnection.org.

I began surfing last summer. My skill level is beginner/intermediate (I ride a 7'3'' fun board).
My friend and I go surfing about once per week, and our work schedule pretty much limits us to do this
on weekends. We plan on surfing throughout the winter and are looking for a fellow surfer to
carpool to the coast.
Must be responsible, reliable and punctual. Preferrably a dude older than 25. Let me know if interested.

With our membership approaching 1000 (!!!) Happy Hour Pro's, we will celebrate the holidays at a large venue.

Please join us for a holiday gathering at Aura. They have a fantastic happy hour menu and it is a very large space that can accomodate 350 people. Wear jeans or deck yourself up in a tux or a gown! Aura is normally closed on Tuesdays but they will open up their doors to accomodate our group. I may combine this with a wine meetup group if this does not fill up.

There is street parking so make sure to plug your meter. This is on SW Burnside so you could also take the bus or MAX, which I strongly encourage. Let someone else do the driving so you can make it home safely!

As will all my meetups, there are no "maybes" or "wait list. With this being a HUGE event, I will apologize in advance if I don't have the opportunity to greet you personally.
