Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager is responsible for the oversight, coordination and training of the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Banking, and other general Accounting functions.
Essential Job Functions
• Plan and monitor workload for the Accounting staff, including setting priorities and tracking progress
• Coordinate ongoing personnel development of departmental staff including training and coaching
• Research and resolve issues with customers, vendors, Banking, internal divisions and others
• Maintain proper documentation of transactions
• Reconcile and control A/R , A/P and Bank Statements
• Reconcile various accounts as assigned
• Be proactive in updating processes and procedures
• Assist staff with workload during absences
• Assist with various projects as assigned by Management
Education and/or Experience
• Bachelors degree or equivalent in area of specialty (Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or other related field)
• 3+ years experience with all general Accounting functions/duties
• 3+ years supervisory experience
Job Skills and/or Abilities
• Proficiency in MS office with emphasis on Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Working knowledge of accounting, GAAP and statutory requirements
• Possess a solid understanding of GL systems, the business cycle and standard accounting practices
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to effectively communicate with all levels with in the organization
• Effective application of appropriate organization and time management skills
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage stress within a high volume, high energy environment working with a diverse customer base
• Ability to maintain positive relationships with our external and internal customers
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work with little direction
