We are a growing startupcompany looking for a skilled Database Engineer to add to our development team. As a part of our team you will be working on our database systems, their architecture, development and the integrity of the data they contain.
Responsibilities:
* Design, implement and operate database systems for performance, reliability and maximum availability.
* Build databases from ground up; from determining business requirements to creating the logical models to building physical models and planning system architecture.
* Design and implement measurement systems to assess service delivery and key performance indicators of critical applications.
* Work with software engineers to ensure the overall application design is optimal. This involves performance data modeling, schema design and query reviews.
* Work with systems engineers to resolve problems with application/database systems.
Requirements:
* BS/MS in computer science with at least 5 years of relevant experience preferred.
* Strong knowledge of database concepts and fundamentals
* Strong software engineering background including ability to program in C/C++, Java, Python or Perl
* Strong knowledge of hardware and UNIX system administration concepts
* Motivated self-learner, good problem solving skills; excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
