As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer for ClearAccess, you will be responsible for developing and supporting ClearAccess CPE products.
The principal job responsibilities include:
- Design and develop embedded software for Linux based Telecom products including low level drivers and board bring up.
- Participate in the architecture and design of new Telecom products.
- Research new technologies and recommend solutions.
- Recommend improvements in the development and test processes.
- Replicate service provider configurations and troubleshoot issues when needed by customer support.
- Communicate and interact with customer support, product management, engineering and other members of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Requires bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline, EE, CS, or equivalent.
- At Least 5 years of the following:
- Strong IP and data networking skills
- Real time embedded software development in Assembly, C and C++
- Embedded Linux development experience including Linux drivers and multi-threaded applications
- Design and implementation of embedded software/firmware for Telecom products
- Experience determining and recording product specifications/requirements
- Experience with DSL/PON and Ethernet
- Familiarity with Telecom standards
- Experience with Routers and Switches
- Familiar with software life cycle methodologies and tools
- Knowledge of SPI, I2C, PCI, MII, MIPS processors, Flash devices, Memory devices, and Ethernet devices
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware, read schematics, and understand device data sheets, use oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, and logic analyzers
- Knowledge and use of background debug mode tools
- IPTV experience is a plus
- VoIP/SIP skills are a plus
- Wireless expertise is a plus
- DOCSIS expertise is a plus
