Qualifications:
Possess an Oregon Wastewater Treatment Operator Grade II certification or be able to obtain one within 6 months from the date of hire. A minimum of two years experience in operating wastewater treatment plants. Possess a valids driver's license. Basic familiarity of the principals and practices of wastewater treatment plant operations; operating principals of valves, pumps and motors; principals and methods of bacteriological and chemical sewage analyses; effects and problems of industrial waste in wastewater treatment processes; safe work practices knowledge of computer software including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, data management systems and be able to operate plant PLC and SCADA systems.
Responsibilities:
Under general guidance this position operates, maintains and repairs wastewater treatment plants, lift stations and assists with the Industrial Pretreatment Program. Additional responsibilities include but not limited to: complies and reports non-compliance with company project policies and procedures; diagnoses operating problems and performs necessary corrective actions; enters data, prepares reports and maintains records of plant operations and logs; maintains cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of work; collects samples, performs routine laboratory tests and analysis; reads meters and gauges, stops/starts equipment and operates valves to control flow; makes process control adjustments and operates PLC and SCADA systems; inspects equipment to identify problems and performs needed maintenance and repairs; performs routine maintenance functions and custodial duties; understands and carries out oral and written directions.
