Artistic Rendering of Historic Buildings in Buckman
Leader: Christine Yun, architect and Buckman Historic Association member
This 4-day, morning summer workshop will look at characteristics of historic homes and commercial buildings in the Buckman neighborhood through different drawing techniques to represent them.
Participants will learn about contour and value drawing, etching & monoprint, and experiment with different color techniques through pencil, water color and markers.
Thirty minutes of the first class will be spent in the studio learning about parts of a house, and characteristics of period architecture in Buckman. One hour will be spent in the field sketching two different buildings and taking pictures for reference. This will also include a walk looking at different buildings to draw.
Subsequent days will focus on techniques.
Artwork from this class may be selected for an October show at the 100th Monkey Studio to benefit the Buckman Historic Association.
