Summary Description: Warner Pacific College, a Christian liberal arts college in SE Portland, is seeking a part-time Head Women’s Soccer Coach to join our Athletics Department.

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Athletics, each head coach has the responsibility of administering the sport in the best interest of the college, in concurrence with the policies and regulations approved by the Board of Trustees and the practices and procedures of the college administration. Each head coach should be familiar with Conference, Region, and National NAIA rules and regulations.

Essential Functions:
• Demonstrates interest in/aptitude for good sportsmanship, maintaining poise/self-control at all times, teaching team to play hard but fairly, welcoming host to visiting teams, coaches, officials, and spectators; disciplines, and when necessary, dismisses players who disregard good sportsmanship and team/departmental policies.
• Organizes and conducts practice sessions.
• Submits all departmental recruiting reports in appropriate manner and on time.
• Works with Director of Athletics on scheduling and team travel.
• Responsible for working with Assistant Athletic Director on all game management issues.
• Responsible for making appropriate reservations for vehicles, lodging, and food service in a professional manner.
• Orders equipment/supplies following proper procedure.
• Responsible for inventory of college-owned equipment and uniforms.
• Responsible for recruiting; departmental goals, departmental procedures, following CCC and NAIA guidelines.
• Works closely with Sports Information Director; media releases, recommend athletes for awards and special recognition.
• Works closely with Director of Athletics on all eligibility and compliance issues.
• Responsible to report all possible NAIA violations directly to the Athletic Director.
• Responsible to uphold all CCC and NCAA rules in a framework of good ethical conduct; violation may result in disciplinary action and/or termination of employment.
• Works closely with Athletic Training office for the ongoing care of our athletes.
• Monitors the academic progress of the student-athlete.
• Follow departmental and college policies and procedures in regards to expenditures.
• Accept responsibility to know current CCC and NAIA rules and policies.
• Follows College and departmental policy regarding fundraising.
• Participate in Warner Pacific College professional development opportunities when appropriate.
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics of Vice President of Institutional Advancement and External Affairs.
• Demonstrate commitment to a Christian liberal arts education by upholding to the mission of the College and abiding by the Employment Standards and Lifestyle Agreement.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree required; Master degree preferred.
• Coaching experience in a high school or collegiate environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively, oral and written communication.
• Ability to travel 50-75% during the season.
• Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of people and commitment to diversity.
• Demonstrated ability to efficiently and effectively solve problems and initiate and implement projects independently.
• Ability to multi-task with accuracy and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to adapt and work effectively in a varied-paced or fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Head coaching experience in a collegiate environment.
• Experience recruiting student-athletes.
