Summary of Position:
The Financial Education and Loan Program Coordinator will facilitate the implementation of a comprehensive financial education and loan program for Innovative Change$ (IC$), an emerging Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI). The goal of this CDFI is to combine access to affordable credit, financial education and credit services to help low- and moderate-income households manage short-term financial emergencies and achieve household stability. IC$ offers one-on-one financial coaching, frequent classes and workshops on a variety of relevant financial education topics, and small dollar loans to individuals with limited access to credit.
Essential Responsibilities:
„X Provide financial education orientations, individual coaching, and workshops for IC$ loan customers and prospective customers.
„X Process loans for qualified borrowers, including signing loan documents, disbursing funds, sending out invoices, collecting payments, and providing follow up support to customers.
„X Coordinate with Partner agencies to schedule and provide workshops and coaching sessions for their clients at various sites throughout Multnomah County.
„X Coordinate with Partner agencies to schedule and provide Training of Trainers workshops to partner agency staff on IC$¡¦s key financial education topics.
„X Test and refine existing curriculum, tools and evaluation mechanisms in coordination with IC$¡¦s Executive Director and other program staff.
„X Assist other program staff in managing and coordinating Volunteer Financial Education Coaches, including orientations, matching with customers, and ongoing support.
„X Assist AmeriCorps CDFI Education Coordinator in updating IC$¡¦s dynamic resource referral database to ensure current and relevant information is available to help customers.
„X Participate and represent IC$ in local or state-wide financial education coalitions as appropriate.
„X Carry out data entry duties to track customers¡¦ progress and report to IC$¡¦s Board and donors.
„X Other office duties as necessary.
Required Qualifications:
„X An independent, self-motivated, creative and resourceful individual with a commitment to IHI¡¦s and IC$¡¦s missions.
„X At least two years of direct teaching or facilitation experience (direct case management or one-on-one counseling experience may substitute for one year).
„X At least two years experience working directly with low-income families and/or individuals.
„X Strong organizational, interpersonal and written communication skills. Competent in Microsoft Office Suite.
„X Bachelor¡¦s degree.
„X Valid driver¡¦s license, good driving record, and personal vehicle required. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
Desired Skills:
„X Spanish fluency.
