Employment Access Specialist: Volunteers of America Oregon’s Home Free program has an immediate opening for an experienced domestic violence/sexual assault advocate who also has a background in job development. This position is part of an innovative project in partnership with Work Systems Incorporated to promote the success of survivors of domestic violence, stalking, and sexual assault in obtaining jobs that allow them to sustain safe housing. This position will be outstationed in the Gateway Center for Domestic Violence Services and the north Portland WorkSource Center.

The Employment Access Specialist will acquire a well-developed understanding of the WorkSource programs and will work with survivors referred by the DV transitional housing network. Responsibilities include assessing survivors’ barriers to employment and financial self-sufficiency, assisting survivors with navigating job training and employment opportunities through the One-Stop Career Center/WorkSource System, serving as a DV resource specialist to the One-Stop centers, and developing an economic resource directory for use by DV housing coordinators.

Required: 1 year of experience as a domestic violence advocate AND one year of job development/employment navigation experience. Must also have experience working with diverse populations, valid driver’s license, current insurance and reliable vehicle, and ability to pass a criminal record check and driving record check.
