Are you interested in joining the team at a fast-growing local business assosiation? We're looking for the right person to take on a one year project that has excellent potential for future growth!

Position Summary:

Candidate will conduct in-depth research on companies in the state of Oregon to identify manufacturing and technological capabilities and other key information for entry into industrial capabilities database. Candidate will also be expected to coordinate closely with economic development stakeholders and government agencies to create lasting partnerships. This position is funded for ONE YEAR. Any extensions will be dependent on securing additional funding in the future. Bachelor’s degree REQUIRED.


Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
• Candidate must be able to work for long periods of time in an unsupervised environment and produce at a high level.
• Performs project research and report preparation; may prepare and update a variety of accounting, database and statistical reports. Data entry and management skills are REQUIRED for this position.
• Performs in-depth research a wide variety of industry base participants. The ideal candidate will have experience in working directly with manufacturers, and have a basic understanding of manufacturing techniques, capabilities, and certifications (AS9100, ISO-9001, etc.)
• Interpersonal communications skills are considered essential for this position. This position requires candidates to work with a wide range of customers, from engineers to corporate executives. Prior experience in sales and/or marketing considered a plus.
• Organizes own work, meets deadlines, sets priorities, coordinates projects and follows up on assignments with minimum direction; Uses initiative and independent judgment within established policy and procedural guidelines.
• Some Travel is REQUIRED for this position. Most travel will be constrained to the local Portland metro area with occasional out of state travel. Total off-site work commitment is expected to be less than 5 hours/week. Travel expenses will be covered according to company policy.
• Pay rate will be $17/hr. This position does not include health benefits.


Supervision Responsibilities:
• No initial supervisory responsibilities, although position has potential for future growth.


Experience, Skills, Knowledge, Abilities, or Education Required:
• Experience in sales/marketing a plus;
• Basic understanding of manufacturing principles and processes;
• Standard business office administrative practices and procedures, including the use of standard office equipment;
• Computer applications related to the work; Competent MS Office Suite skills a must.
• Current business math;
• Records management and retention principles and practices; and
• Techniques for dealing effectively with the public and staff, in person and over the telephone.
• COMPLETION OF BACHELOR’S DEGREE REQUIRED;
• Prior military service or government experience preferred;
• Have the passion and desire to be an effective key team member of the business.
