The Cabinetmaker constructs, maintains and repairs exhibit cabinetry and display work. This position is a full-time, special project, scheduled to work through January 2, 2010.

Ideal candidate will have thorough knowledge of all standard tools and processes for production of cabinets and wood products, thorough knowledge of plastic laminate production, working knowledge of mechanical devices and their incorporation into exhibits, working knowledge of electrical construction as related to exhibits, demonstrated ability to produce quality products in a production environment, working knowledge of blueprints, and visual and verbal methods of communication, demonstrated organizational, communication and project management skills, ability to work with designers and technical personnel to resolve mechanical and technical problems related to exhibit design and ability to work with outside sources to acquire technical and material information.

Candidate must have a minimum of 4 years experience as a cabinetmaker or exhibits builder with emphasis on plastic laminate and finish carpentry and valid Drivers License. Pre-employment checks such as a criminal background check, reference checks and passing a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and Alcohol & Drug Test for non-CDL Drivers Policy, including pre-duty drug test are required.
