Looking for female to round out clean, modern 3 bedroom home with two clean and courteous males. The location is great! Just 1.5 blocks south of Alberta on NE 21st. It has a very nice bath room, huge open kitchen, wireless internet access, great furniture, a large kitchen with all the basics (dishes, pans, silverware, etc.), a propane fire pit in the back yard, and one person at a time can play music to any room in the house (if they want it) through their iTunes (including the shower).

There is also 9' pool table, and music studio in the basement, which will be accessible to you to use (though on a semi-limited basis as it will also be my bed room.) The laundry room and second full bathroom are also in the basement but not in my room, so those are always accessible.

Though this is a musical, artistic house, it will also be a respectful house. Sound proofing measures are in place and supplemented with noise makers (a pleasure to sleep to) as well as a healthy dose of common sense. The room that is available is at the far end of the house from the studio anyway, so it's really even more of a non-issue. The room also has a door to what used to be a handicapped lift, so it's kind of like it has it's own porch but not much of a view. (The garage.)

I'm not sure if we can accept any more pets or not... The best dog in the world basically lives on the porch (his choice) and there are two indoor/outdoor cats. I'm not completely ruling out, say, another truly cool/smart/quiet dog, should the right dog apply.

I am male, 35 years old, liberal, lover of art and music, sort of a "techie," somewhat of a "night person," and attend Burning Man each year. I keep a clean kitchen, have a sense of humor, and I'm uninterested in drama. Steven is a 28 year old generally good person I have found to be VERY easy to live with. We here at a yellow house on Cleveland Avenue have a small room available for rent - either at the beginning of November or shortly after. You would round out a total of 4 roommates, two of which are married and share one of three bedrooms. The house is biggish and old and is all around lovely with a sunny dining room, roomy kitchen with a huge pantry, a big front porch and a prolific pear tree.

Your room is sorta on the small side but big enough to fit a queen bed and all the fixins and still have room. It is $300 plus 1/4 of gas, power, water and Internet optional. As for the house climate, it's pretty relaxed. We are tidy but it gets messy at times, then it gets cleaned up. Dishes like to get done fairly quickly, or they start whining in the sink. We have occasional parties, but they are never very wild.

About us - we all keep pretty busy with school and work - I have two jobs and I attend a couple of classes at PCC, Amy is a full-time student at PSU and John works full-time. But we really enjoy housetime with housemates. Cooking dinners together and doing crafts like knitting and making stuff and watching movies and just hanging out in the kitchen while we bake something yummy and drinking beer is always a fun idea.

The neighborhood is great - stumbling distance to the 5th Quadrant and Pix Patisserie, walking distance to Whole Foods, Hollywood Video and the library (and the other direction to Mississippi), and just a few minutes' biking distance to Alberta, downtown, Lloyd Center, and southeast Portland. We are also right off the 405.
We have one dog and one cat, and would prefer to keep it that way.

Transportation/ Location
The home is two blocks north of Willamette Blvd. (bus #40) and two blocks south of Lombard (bus # 75). It is about 7 blocks west of Greeley (bus # 1) and 1 mile from the Interstate max or New Seasons. It is 1.3 miles to the University of Portland. The neighborhood is great. People are friendly and out and about with baby carriages, walking dogs and joggers can be seen early to late each day on Willamette Blvd. There is a neighborhood Pub 3 blocks walk from the house that has a computer set up internet ready for use if you don't have one. There is a nice coffeehouse several blocks away on Greely South of Ainsworth that also has internet.

The place is very nice - full-sized washer and drier, dishwasher, garbage disposal, balcony with a nice view of a neighboring lake - and the apt. complex has an outdoor pool and hot tub, fitness room, racquetball court, and a Fred Meyer shopping center across the street. Rent would include water/sewer and garbage, and the electric and internet bills are additional and would be split between us.

I'm looking for someone who is responsible for themselves, both financially and domestically. I'm sorry that I have to spell it out like this, but if you can't take care of yourself, your living quarters or your bills, then you won't last long living with me. I spent a good amount of time & effort keeping my home clean - with three animals, it isn't that easy, and I would like to cohabitate with someone that takes care of their own messes.

With that being said, I am very easy to get along with and I am very respectful of other people.
