the framework is grapevine, woven with plastic ivy, and natural, dried lilac flowers, looks like, plus real heather and moss.

it's been on our chimney for several years and we'll miss it, but are moving and it's not practical to pack, unfortunately.

Maxfield Parrish Illustrated Books & Prints in Antique Frames (Tigard/Lake Oswego) $1

Large DAYBREAK (33 1/2" X 21 1/2") in original, ornate gilded frame. Circa 1922-1923. Attached photo does NOT do it justice. I had trouble photographing in natural light without reflection. Must be seen. Best offer over $500.

Also, duo sold together in matching frames: from the Arabian Nights collection, the very rare "LANDING OF THE BRAZEN BOATMAN" and "CASSIM IN THE CAVE" (caption from the story reads: "Cassim...was so alarmed at the danger he was in that the more he endeavoured to remember the word "Sesame", the more his memory was confounded."). Both are 8 1/2" X 11" (print size) and are original 1908 prints, matted and framed professionally. Set sold together. Best offer over $400 for the pair. Again, the photos were taken by me and are not as crisp and vibrant as the real deal.

These prints have NEVER been exposed to direct sunlight or other potentially degrading situations, since I have owned them. They were purchased in NY in the late '70's.

I also have a couple more beautifully framed Parrishes I may consider selling....(The Centaur, Dinky Bird & possibly others) AND original Parrish illustrated books! I am selling my spare sewing machine so it can be put to use (I have not used the machine for over 2 1/2 years, since I bought another). It is a Crafter's Choice by Baby Lock and I paid $750 in 2004. It is still covered by the store for FREE SERVICE until 4/26/09. I asked the store for a fair sale value, and they suggested $350-$400. I am asking for the low end ($350) only because there is a small rust spot under the bobbin holder. (This does not effect the machine's performance and you may take it into the store to be cleaned/ serviced.) Machine was purchased from Montavilla Sewing Center, Beaverton. Former Wearable Art (garment)sewer and textile artist has emptied her storage unit and must get rid of about 50 boxes of fabric. I'm clearing out the first wave and will have it available at my garage sale at a friend's house in Beaverton on Walker Rd. and Hwy. 217 this weekend.

There are fabrics of every kind, from quilt cottons to ultrasuede, upholstery fabrics, velvets and velveteens, corduroy - even a roll of silk dupionni, hand dyed and backed for your upholstery or garment projects. (I will say though that there aren't children's print fabrics available.)

We have a good condition Kenmore sewing machine, capable of sewing heavy gauge leather. As witnessed personally.
All the mechanicals are clean and lubed, and in great condition.
It does need to be timed a little bit better though, but have been told that could easily be done at any sewing machine service shop for 20$
It's a little dusty in the picture, as the wife has not had anyone to teach her how to sew, and it has gone unused since it was purchased a few years ago.
It has been stored in our bedroom ever since, and now it needs to go.
We also have the table that goes with it, but I don't have pics of that yet. It is stored in my shop.
They can be provided upon request by interested parties, or will be posted later.
It is a very solid, real wood, table that allows the machine to be hidden below the work surface, and has two fold out leaves to open up for the machine, as well as expanding the work surface.
It does need a little light refinishing, as it has some light surface scratches, but we just figured that just added to it's character / patina, as it aged toward antiquity.
Originally paid 165$ for the machine, and 50$ for the table.
We no longer need this machine, as she was given a newer unit by my mother, however she still isn't satisfied with her sewing skills, and doesn't use that one either. We're perfectionists I guess, when it comes to our work quality.

It's unmarked and custom-made from hardwood with handmade flywheel assembly, treadle, tensioning, etc. The post to the mother-of-all is broken, but looks like it'd be easily repaired with a 3/4" dowel. Overall an attractive and unique wheel, just needs some work.

I've moved into a much smaller studio and simply have no room for all 3 of my wheels, so this one's gotta go! (I have another Shimpo I'm keeping.)

This particular wheel is just over a year old and has only been used for small work with porcelain. No heavy use at all. Everything is in perfect condition. These wheels are my alltime FAVORITE electrics. Completely silent, massive torque, responsive pedal, reverse gear for lefties and tank like construction. You just can't beat them at any price.

These wheels are currently running about $850-$900 new.

Heidi Swapp Foam Stamps (Lake Oswego) $10

I have a set of Heidi Swapp Foam stamps in New Orleans font. These are used but in good condition. There are paint smudges on some of the plastic backings and around the base of some of the letters, but that comes with usage. One side has the upper case font, the other side has the lower case font. Also includes numbers 1-0 and the original plastic storage case. For sale for $10.

hand carved candle (lake oswego)

Received this as a wedding gift years ago. It's a blue and white hand-dipped, hand-carved candle. Used as a decoration and has never been lit. Slight discoloration on the top due to being wrapped in packing paper and sitting in storage for several months. Otherwise in good condition. Name your price and it's yours. If you're local, we can arrange a pick-up or I can ship to you (you will be charged actual shipping charges).

Unpacking some of our items from storage, I came across a few stamp sets that I don't use and they are taking up valuable space ;o)

Wang Chao-chun is one of the Four Great Beauties of China. She was one of several thousand concubines of Emperor Yuan of the Western Han dynasty (around 40 B.C.). It was the custom for each lady to have a portrait painted, for that was how the monarch would select his companion for the evening.
Now Mao, the court painter, was very corrupt. He solicited bribes from all the women he painted. When he came before Wang Chao-chun, she steadfastly refused to submit to his thinly veiled extortion attempt, confident that her natural beauty would win out in the end. In malice, Mao added an ugly birthmark to Wang Chao-chun's face in the portrait, ensuring that she would never receive the emperor's favors.

A few years later, Emperor Yuan negotiated peace with the barbarians. To cement the deal, he agreed to give "a Han beauty" to the barbarian king. Not wishing to give a real beauty, the emperor looked at the portraits of all the women in his harem, and chose the ugliest he could find: Wang Chao-chun. Not until she was on the point of departure did Emperor Yuan see her in person for the very first time. Indeed, she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen in his life. The emperor wanted to renege on his promise, but his ministers warned there would be further bloodshed and warfare, so reluctantly, he had to let her go. But because of her courage and self-sacrifice, she brought peace to the two nations for many years.
