Growing Medical Group Seeks Accomplished Manager for Billing and Insurance Operations Manager
The manager shall oversee and and be directly accountable for the results of the Billing Department including Provider Credentialing and Insurance Contracting. This is a challenging position. Responsibilities:
Billing -
* Hiring and training and developing the Billing Staff (including regular performance reviews and ensuring staff educated and updated on billing practices and laws)
* Developing and maintaining relationships with all insurance provider representatives
* Producing regular analytics and score cards on AR aging, daily deposits, DSO, daily postings, refunds, customer inquires complaints
* Liaison and coordination with Operations leadership to ensure clear, consistent information available to internal customers regarding customer outstanding balances
* Liaison and coordination with Accounting leadership to ensure reconciliation of deposits
* Developing and maintaining Billing processes that achieve the following results:
o Maintaining patient and insurer accounts receivable aging at 95% under 60 days
o Ensuring 100% of all insurance payments paid according to contract rates
o Ensuring 100% reconciliation of receipts and deposits
o Turning around all patient and insurer within 30 days of notification
o Maintaining cost of billing at <4% of revenue
Provider Credentialing -
* Ensuring that all providers are fully credentialed with all our contracted insurers within 3 months of hire
* Maintaining provider credentialing based on insurer and state requirements
* Liaison and coordination with Operations leadership to ensure clear, consistent information available to internal customers regarding provider credentialing status
Insurer Contracting -
* Developing, managing and maintaining contracts with selected insurers
* Ensuring that contracts with selected insurers achieve targets on reimbursement and terms of payment
* Liaison and coordination with Operations leadership to ensure clear, consistent information available to internal customers regarding insurer contract status
Information Systems -
* Contributing to the development of software development initiatives by serving as domain expert and developer of use cases and requirements. The company develops and manages its own information systems including billing and financial systems.
Education, Experience And Skill Requirements:
* Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis
* Minimum of least 3 years at manager and supervisory level
* Must have bottom line focus with a determination to achieve department and company goals
* Excellent Microsoft Excel and analytic skills
* Excellent verbal and written communications skills
* Strong independent judgment and analytical skills with attention to detail
* Ability to work independently and in a team environment
* Ability to work in a time sensitive environment with tight deadlines
* Ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers
* Proficient at managing direct reports, interacting with peers and reporting to senior management
