AUTOCAD Designer: Electronics assembly tooling manufacturer has current openings for entry level CAD designer (level I or II). AutoCAD experience required, while Solidworks is beneficial. Must be motivated, hard working and detail oriented. Compensation package dependant on experience and includes full benefits and bonus plan.
JOB TITLE: AutoCAD Designer
JOB DESCRIPTION: Create complete and accurate drawings for custom tools and fixtures, work directly with customers to review and approve designs, and support production group as each custom tool is made.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: To include but not limited to the following:
- Team with sales staff and customers to develop comprehensive list of requirements for each custom project.
- Participate in team based design process that ensures timely output of drawings and Bills of Materials.
- Converse and correspond with clients as necessary to assist in obtaining customer approval of drawings. Upon receipt of customer approval, make any necessary revisions and release to shop.
- Work with purchasing to provide necessary information for ordering of materials as early as possible on projects to maintain control of material costs, and facilitate timely staging for production through the shop.
- Support sales and estimating personnel with technical aspects of projects
- Continue individual training and self improvement
- Identify Engineering process and system improvement opportunities
- Document and help design in-house drawing standards, and training program for future designers.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- 2-5 years minimum drafting experience is preferred
- Associate Degree in Drafting technology is a plus
- Blue Print Reading
- 3-D modeling experience is a plus
- Experience with electronic device assembly is preferred
- Ability to take tasks and run with them.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
