Contract Mechanical Design Engineer
POSITION SUMMARY:
Portland Consulting Firm is seeking an experienced and creative Mechanical Design Engineer to work with our development team, on a contract basis. Our engineers work on products across a wide range of industries and provide development services and leadership in all product development phases from concept to production.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provide Product Assembly Design, Part Design and Documentation
· Design for Manufacture
· Identify, Evaluate And Select Materials and Processes To Product And Design Requirements.
· Provide Design Analysis And Tolerance Studies.
· Provide Project Management and Coordination and work well with Clients, Peers and Suppliers
· Provide Design and Qualifications for Product Environment
Experience and Requirements:
· Excellent Skills in major CAD Package such as; Solid Works, ProE, UG Nx. Advanced Surface Modeling a Plus
· Experienced in design and fabrication processes such as; prototypes, machining injection molding, roto-molding, sheet metal, die casting PCBs and cabling.
· Effective written and oral communication skills.
· Excellent relationship skills with team members, clients and suppliers.
Qualifications:
· BSME (min preferred)
· 5 years experience in mechanical product design
· Mechanical product development leadership experience
