PORTLAND, OR – Watch for the glow off Hwy 26, as it will be sparkling with the holiday spirit thanks again to Shilo Inns’ popular annual Christmas light display. The display is one of the largest holiday lighting displays in the country and is a must-see for holiday revelers looking to get in the Christmas holiday spirit.

The Shilo Inns traditional holiday light display, going on for more than 25 years, is open to all travelers who pass by Shilo Inns’ corporate headquarters near the Cedar Hills Blvd. exit off Hwy 26. As usual, the lights will be illuminated the night after Thanksgiving, November 27th at dusk, and will continue every evening through New Year’s Eve.

“The Christmas holiday season is my family’s favorite time of year, as it is celebrating the birth of Jesus, ‘The Prince of Peace,’” said Mark Hemstreet, owner of Shilo Inns. “The lights are also very significant because they are a show of Shilo’s support for all of our veterans and brave troops who are spending their holidays overseas defending our liberties and freedom. We appreciate very much everything they are doing for our country and it is our humble way to say ‘Thank you!’”

The light display, located at the Shilo Inns corporate office, can be viewed at 11600 SW Shilo Lane in Portland. It is also an official drop-off site for the U.S. Marine Corp Reserves’ Toys for Tots Foundation, a drive that delivers new toys and a message of hope to children in the Portland community. Shilo Inns would like to invite all members of the community to enjoy the free holiday light display and bring unwrapped toys to the collection box at the Shilo headquarters.

“Toys for Tots is a very special program because it allows me and my family, Shilo employees and the community to come together in a joint effort to help the children in our community,” said Mark Hemstreet. “And on behalf of all our dedicated Shilo employees, Shilo will be contributing $2,500 again this year for a variety of children’s toys, books, games and bikes.”
