About the Job
Vesta offers a dynamic environment for employing your skills to create service oriented architecture for real-time transaction processing within Vesta’s stored value replenishment business. We have many upcoming projects that span the spectrum of development. We are seeking a team oriented, energetic, personable, and motivated Java Software Engineer to join our talented Development team.

Key Objectives:

This position has responsibility for applying technology to drive Vesta’s real-time transaction operating environment.

• Be part of the Vesta engineering development team delivering real-time transaction processing systems
  
• Adopt the Vesta engineering team development practices, processes and tools
  
• Be part of a highly collaborative team environment, where communication, compromise and ownership are the keys to success for delivering systems on time and with high quality
  
• Provide tech specs and documentation
  
• Develop and perform unit and basic integration tests

Required skills:

Knowledge of the following technologies:

• Strong business acumen, having passion solving business problems
  
• Familiarity with Java or similar programming technologies
  
• Experiences with MS Transact SQL
  
• Experiences with data modeling
  
• Experiences with process modeling
  
• Good written and verbal communication skills
  
• Experience using source code management and build tools (SVN, Teamcity, Ant)
  
• Familiarity with test driven development
  
• Experiences with exception handling and error handing strategies

Additional Desired Skills:

• Background in large enterprise web projects (typically in industries such as Finance, Insurance, Banking, E-commerce/E-business, Computers or any major dot coms)
  
• Familiarity with Java UI technologies including DHTML, AJAX, DOM’s, JavaScript, JSP, Struts, MVC models.
