Senior Software Developer and Lead Architect

Areas of Responsibility:
1. Maintenance of existing code
2. Development of new enhancements
3. Research into new technologies
4. Oversight of documentation

Critical Tasks:
1. Maintaining ASP, Visual Basic COM objects, and SQL Server database tables, stored procedures, and functions that make up the existing Collaborator extranet application.
2. Planning, architecting, and developing new enhancements in the current application—using legacy technologies and more modern technologies as appropriate for backward compatibility and new capabilities.

Important Tasks:
1. Researching technologies both in development and in application hosting that pertain to the extranet.
2. Review and manage the documentation process for accuracy.
3. Understand and provide oversight of hosting the application for best performance and reliability.

Comments:
A strong understanding of enterprise (meaning multi-user, high bandwidth) software engineering is critical to being able to manage this application. Considerations for the impact of an enhancement on existing users, and in a multi-use scenario must be taken for any request.
A clear understanding of legacy technologies (ASP, COM) and modern technologies (.NET) and how they can work together is important for development.
