Business Management Consultant Position
Portland based consulting firm has position opening for an experienced consultant to work with private and governmental entities to improve business performance by aligning a company’s systems, processes, structure, technology, and workforce behind it strategic business objectives.

Company currently is seeking an experienced business management consultant with a proven background in conducting organizational and management reviews, evaluating existing systems and processes, conducting structured interviews with executive management, and documenting and reporting findings and developing re-engineering solutions to improve the client’s operational performance and cost efficiencies. 10 years experience with firms such as Accenture, IBM, Bearing Point, Deloitte or others is preferred.

This position requires a combination of strong business experience and business consulting expertise in the comparison of organizational practices, systems, structures and technology to those best practice organizations in a similar industry or sector.

Specific accountabilities include:
Conducts systems-based root cause analyses to identify shortcomings in organizational structure, processes, and systems to facilitate improvements in change management, process management, and systems analysis.
Works with diverse groups to achieve consensus about changes in strategic direction to assist in developing tactical and strategic services and/or programs to support the business unit's goals (financial, quality, customer service, operational efficiency, workforce planning, cultural change management, workforce staffing and utilization, etc.).
Reviews, analyzes, and creates detailed documentation of business systems and user needs, including workflow, and program functions.
Consults with various personnel to determine business, functional and technical requirements for specified service deliveries.
Coordinates the analysis of specific end-user requirements (internal and external) to ensure business systems, processes, structure and technology adequately support the organization's mission, strategies and mandates without duplicative efforts between departments or groups.
Develops effective reporting tools for the business unit.
Analyzes the business/department activities and trends and compares analyses against the service standards and best practices. Presents findings and recommendations to senior executives with assigned team to identify and implement strategies that will address tactical and strategic goals.
Analyzes trends and recommends adjustments address and/or capitalize on trends.
Analyzes and develops training/development requirements to close organizational and management gaps.
Presents findings and works with other consultants and client personnel to recommend initiatives that will upgrade the skills and capabilities of personnel in business unit and overall.
Develops strong interpersonal relationships with internal managers and end-users.
Communicates effectively the purpose and value of resolving operational barriers together in support of organizational objectives.
Builds business case for changes to systems and processes including operating and technology systems.
Previous Experience

Project Manager (systems, processes, structure, and technology)
Re-engineering (systems, processes, structure, and technology)
Consulting (business, OD, management services).
Education
BA degree in business or related field preferred. Equivalent work experience considered.
MBA strongly preferred
Travel
May require travel of up to 30% to work onsite with assigned clients
Typical assignments from West Coast to Texas
