J.P. Donleavy was a critically and commercially successful 20th century author. Born to Irish immigrant parents, his works often include the perspectives of Irish-Americans in the post-WWII era. The Destinies of Darcy Dancer, Gentleman is an episodic, humorous tale, encapsulating much of Donleavy’s usual style, but at a point in his life where he had mastered his craft. This limited first edition by the Franklin Library presents the work beautifully alongside Jim Campbell’s illustrations.
Leather bound edition, accented in gold. printed on archival paper with gilded edges. The end sheets are of moire fabric with a silk ribbon page marker.
