Late summer/fall is a great time to plant bamboos! Prices vary depending on species, size and rarity, starting at $60 and up to $175. These are all running bamboos potted up and ready to plant in various sizes in #5 to #15 gallon pots. They are bio dynamically grown quality specimens from my personal collection at about half the price (or less) of Portland area nurseries.
Timber bamboos that prefer full sun and can reach 40-55 feet in height:
Phyllostachys nigra Punctada (Black bamboo). Grows to 60 ft tall. This type is NOT blooming like most blacks are.
Phyllostachys nigra Megurochiku, or Black Stripe bamboo. Grows to 55 feet tall.
Phyllostachys atrovaginata, or Incense bamboo. Grows to 40 feet tall.
Phyllostachys aureosulcata, or Yellow Groove bamboo (1st photo). Grows to 45 feet all.
Intermediate bamboos that prefer full sun but will grow well in partial shade:

Phyllostachys nuda (3rd photo). Make good screening plants. Choice gourmet edible shoots. Grows to 35 feet.
Phyllostachys aurea or Golden bamboo. Make good screening plants. Grows to 25 feet.
Phyllostachys aurea "Koi"(5th photo). Gold culms with green stripes. Grows to 20 feet.
