123456
The Musicality Network of Portland has the best piano teachers who can travel to your Lake Oswego home! Many of our teachers are already teaching students in your neighborhood!

Here are 6 great options for piano teachers to come to your Lake Oswego home:

1. Anna
My name is Anna, I teach songwriting, vocal, guitar, piano, banjo (both three finger, and clawhammer), ukulele, bass and mandolin. I graduated at the University of Colorado with a Bachelors of Music Performance, and an emphasis in Songwriting. As a professional musician I’ve released 4 albums with my bands Birds of a Feather, Circus House and Ancient Elk. I have gone on a few national tours. I was the runner up in the 2011 Walnut Valley Bluegrass Festival Songwriting competition. I’ve performed in several different types of bands ranging from Folk, Bluegrass, Psych Rock, Electronic and Funk/R&B/Soul. The versatility I’ve gained from performing under a variety of different genres makes it easy to help my students customize what they want to learn. I love to mentor students in finding their own voice, increase levels of confidence and expand their range of musicality. I currently teach piano, guitar, voice, banjo, ukulele, mandolin and songwriting.

2. Charles
Charles is an accomplished musician who performs, composes, produces, and engineers music. He has been intense and passionate about music since early childhood. At the age of 6 he began his musical journey by learning piano and being influenced by gospel and jazz music. Later he expanded into the world of drums and percussion. Moving into his teens Charles was starting to engaged in many musical activities and performed in many groups in high school. He played in (by audition only) the All Northwest jazz band and was a featured soloist in the group on vibraphone. Also, he played in the All State Concert Bands for two years. After high school Charles studied and performed around the Inland Northwest until the late 90’s when Charles was accepted to the Berklee College of Music on scholarship and moved to Boston. While at Berklee Charles was awarded the Elvin Jones Scholarship and in May of 2000 Charles graduated “Cum Laude” from the Berklee College of Music.

3. Lee
My name is Lee, and I recently graduated from Concordia University with a BA in Music Education. I have been a private teacher for seven years now, and teach guitar, piano, voice, and bass. I thoroughly enjoy sharing the wonders of music with students and getting them to realize how much potential they really have. My curriculum would be based on whichever specific direction the student would choose to take, whether it be more classical, or Suzuki inspired.

4. Christine
Christine started playing the piano at five years old and has taken lessons for 16 years. She has studied college level music theory and pedagogy, and has accompanied choir and church worship groups. She has two years of piano teaching experience including theory, technique, chording, and rhythm. In addition to her experience teaching piano, Christine also has taught dance for three years and is passionate about helping children develop skills that allow them to artistically express themselves. As a teacher she believes that with hard work and dedication any student can find enjoyment and accomplishment in playing the piano. Christine teaches the piano.

5. MaryAnn
Music is a wonderful tool to reach, train and develop long lasting positive characteristics in our selves and others. What a great opportunity to help others gain life shaping experiences through their own musical journey. I have fond memories of those who helped me along the way to develop my love for music and the instruments I currently play. Teaching is a rewarding experience I value and have enjoyed for many years. We share a part of ourselves when we teach others. Whether I am teaching music, math or English I enjoy helping others succeed and reach their goals. Currently, I am providing lessons for piano, drum set, multi percussion and euphonium. I also teach at a private school: music theory, percussion ensembles and regular academic subjects. My performing experiences include church choir, worship service, local Orchestras, and jamming at home with others. I started taking lessons in the sixth grade, first piano then drums. I’ve marched in a drum & bugle corps for seven years traveling the United States and Canada. In High school, I played in concert band, orchestra, marching band and a percussion ensemble. College provided an enriching experience with percussion ensembles, Charleston Symphony Orchestra, Spoleto Festival, a gig with the Tonight Show band and the Charleston Navy Band. I love it all and purpose to provide a balanced program of method book, theory, sight reading. I help prepare students for auditions, their own performing experiences, and best of all, adding lots of FUN to the mix.

6. Kiran
My name is Kiran – I grew up surrounded by an eclectic range of music ranging from traditional middle eastern songs to American folk music to Michael Jackson. I have spent most of my time seriously studying Jazz, European Classical and music from Brazil. I play piano, organ, trumpet, guitar, drums and sing. After graduating high school I was awarded a scholarship to study music at the prestigious Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California. I have since studied at Portland State and privately with many accomplished and amazing teachers. I love to teach all ages and abilities as I believe that teaching is a beautiful and necessary practice for all aspiring professional musicians such as myself. As one of my mentors would frequently remind me, “you can’t keep it unless you give it away”. My goal in teaching is to use whatever knowledge and skills I have to help support and enhance the lives of my students and the people around me. In my spare time I love to play basketball, boxing, being outdoors and reading. I teach piano, guitar, voice and trumpet.
