Thomas Academy is a small private school in Milwaukie, Oregon. It was designed to assist homeschoolers with an alternative to a traditional school. It affords the child an opportunity to make the transition from the homeschooling environment to a traditional classroom. The Core Classes grades are second through tenth grade. Spelling, reading, writing, math, grammar, history, and science, and field trips.
** Curriculum; The academy primarily uses the ABEKA curriculum for the core classes. The student enjoy a wide range of activities. These activities. these activities include computer, field trips, films, hands on projects, and reports. Your child will develop good time management, and become a self-starter. They will enjoy a supportive environment with a lot of individual attention.
** Tutoring; The academy also provides tutoring in all subjects for children in grades K-10 whether in home, public, charter, on-line or private school. The tutoring is tailored to each child's need with one on one instruction.
** Rates for Core Class
** Registration $200.00, Monthly Tuition Fee $350.00, Books are purchased by each parent. The books can be purchased through Thomas Academy.
** Tutoring; Registration Fee $40.00, Tutoring Fee per Hour $20.00 per session.
My Credentials: Sue Thomas is the director and founder of Thomas Academy. She has B.S. in Education from Oregon State University and M.S. in Teaching from Portland State University. Sue has been in the educational field for over 40 years. She has taught in the public and private school sector. Thomas Academy has been working with children of all ages for over 26 years.
She has a special place for those wanting to learn, but finding difficulty in succeeding. She works with teachers, parents and students to create achievable goals for academic success.
