I’m a solo operator running an online custom doormat business in Canby (thedoormatory.com) and I’m looking for a freelance Content Creator to ideate (in collaboration with me as currently I’m the only employee), execute, and analyze content and social growth across platforms.
This role is not scheduling generic content, but actively creating different content types and strategies to garner views and eventually push sales. Not all content will be business / sales focused. Trying to build a brand voice and sensibility. Personality encouraged and sense of humor a definite plus! People with little experience but who are creative encouraged to apply!
I will be using the book Day Trading Attention by Gary Vaynerchuk as an outline for the content strategy.
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Devise content strategies based on different platforms and cultural trends
• Create and publish content for platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube etc. Being on-camera a plus but not required. (Personal brand-building via business accounts is okay)
• Manage day-to-day social media execution: posting multiple times daily, testing, iterating, and scaling what works
• Actively monitor trends, memes, comments, and platform shifts
• Track performance and adjust strategy based on engagement, reach, and conversions
Who This Is For:
• You’re mainly creative but also somewhat analytical
• You’re comfortable being hands-on: filming, editing, writing, posting
• You move pretty quickly
• You want to own outcomes, not just tasks
Who This Is NOT For:
• People who only know how to schedule posts
• People who need rigid instructions for every task
• Anyone looking for a passive or “set it and forget it” role
Requirements:
• Local to Portland Metro area as occasional visits to Canby may be required to record content and pick up mats
