1.) two sided Regal Tip Practice Pad
one side is a tunable mylar head for realistic feel with rimshot
the other side is a quiet rubber surface
I installed a velcro strap which can be used around the knee if no other surface is available
got the knee strap idea from this company'Jemm':

it has different angles for matched grip and traditional grip practice.
Both pads are very portable and came in handy for me to always practice with headphones throughout school, when teachers were babbling about subjects which were not interesting to drummers.
Also handy for getting your flamadiddle sticking skills up while logging long hours on low wage jobs to give the the boss a hint that you'll need a raise.
Every waking hour has been practice time with these practice pads.
Now that I have gotten so good, I don't need them anymore
$20 each, or take both for $30 to get twice as good!
