INGERSOLL
“Ingersoll Watch Company”, one of the oldest American watchmakers, founded in 1882 by the two brothers Robert H. and Charles Ingersoll. Pioneers of industry and invention in the field of watch making, they devised and followed an ambitious plan: "to offer Ingersoll watches to the general public at an affordable price, whilst maintaining real quality and credibility."
Initially, each Ingersoll watch was handcrafted until 1892 with the intervention of Henry Ford, Ingersoll succeeded in fabricating an automated production line for wristwatches and pocket watches. Also, a mail order catalog was created, and Ingersoll watches were available to the public and not just wholesale to dealers.
Boy Scouts of America
Art Deco / Wristwatch
This is a very unique timepiece, a vintage Ingersoll Boy Scouts Art Deco wristwatch Patented JULY 2.18 NOV.14.22. It is a hand winding watch with mechanical movement, small second hand and made in U.S.A.
Cased in a 31mm silver-tone tonneau case with Art Deco design.
The original champagne dial showcases an open field with a camp surrounded by numerous trees, adorned with round Arabic numerals. The hands resemble wooden directional signs, featuring 'Be Prepared' on the hour hand and 'A Scout Is' on the minute hand. The minute track emphasizes distinct disciplines such as Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent. At the 6 o'clock position, the sub-second hand takes the shape of a 'fleur-de-lis' (Lily Flower), a hallmark of Scouting Organizations.

IMPORTANT –
Vintage watches are traditionally smaller than today's watches. Men’s watches typically measure between 29-36mm wide. (some larger, some smaller) excluding the crown. In the listing details I typically try to do my best to list all pertinent dimensions of a watch. If you don't see it, or I failed to do so, please reach out to me.
The condition is pre-owned.
The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear but is fully operational and functions as intended.
Please review the photos and feel free to ask any questions you may have.
Please be aware that the item you are purchasing is a VINTAGE item. This item is a watch. It is keeping accurate time over a 2–4-hour time period and is 20-100 years old, and as such, these items are previously worn, and the quality of the item WILL reflect that. Expect for a vintage timepiece to have blemishes... this is part of what gives these amazing pieces their charm. Further, unless a watch specifically says that it has been recently serviced, expect that at some point in time, this timepiece will need a professional servicing in order to run and keep excellent time, which is also part of the experience of owning any mechanical watch. If an extremely accurate, worry-free experience is what you are seeking
PLEASE NOTE: A vintage collectible timepiece is more than a nice piece of vintage jewelry to be worn on special occasions; the above timepiece can be worn in every day use. Those watches will not keep as accurate a time as a modern quartz wristwatch or cellular telephone and nor should it be expected to. If total accuracy is what you desire or need, then there are many quartz watches available and many at a fraction of the cost. I do not deal in them here and they are nowhere near as neat as a vintage collectible wristwatch. So please be aware of what you are buying. Thanks !
I do my absolute best to take accurate photographs of items and to show any blemishes.
Examples of common characteristics of a vintage timepiece are:
-imperfections on the crystal
-imperfections on case
-imperfections on the lugs
-unless stated that the strap is new, the leather is often quite old and may need replacing in the future
-metal bracelets may not include all of the links that the watch originally may have come with, but can be replaced with a bracelet or strap of your choosing
Please be aware that the item may have some minor blemishes such as: (view photos)
-minor scratches or discoloration
-fading of plating
-fading of paint
This vintage watch was pre owed and expertly reconditioned, therefore, the watch is sold as is and all sales are final.
I do my best to provide accurate descriptions. I want this purchasing experience to be pleasant and surprise-free.
Vintage and antique items, unless "new old stock", have been around the block a time or two.
