This is a Rare Shyvers Multiphone.....This model was made after the war (WWII) and used up until about 1959....... This one is about as nice as they get! Completely restored. It has a transformer that lights up both of the jewels. This Shyvers has a Red and Yellow jewel, the Yellow being the Rarest of the four colors that the jewels came in. For those of you that don't know about the Shyvers Multiphone, the system had about 175 selections when the jukeboxes only had about 24 selections. This was done by connecting the Shyvers via a phone line to a central location. When a coin was deposited into the Shyvers the jewels would light up, and a light would go on above a turntable at the central location. A 'Shyvers Girl' (Operator) at the central location would then speak into a microphone and ask for the selection (by number), the patron or customer would then speak into the microphone at the top of the Shyvers and give the selection number. The 'Shyvers Girl' would then find that record and put it on the turntable, and the music would come out the speaker on the bottom of the Shyvers! This Shyvers is beautifully Polished and has the Very Rare Wall Bracket (something reproduced and is no longer available). The Shyvers also has wires out the back from the speaker so it could be hooked up to a music source. The lock is an original lock and includes the two original keys. The Shyvers Multiphone is very art deco in style, and is compared in looks like the Chrysler building in NYC. Take a look at my pictures (the pictures came out good but the Shyvers looks even Better in person!)
