(Sorry…had the wrong phone # on my ad for the longest time)

Here’s what’s left of a 9-piece Robert Portner Brewing Company bottle collection. In the late 1800s, it was the largest brewing company in the South and lasted until 1916 when Prohibition killed it.These bottles are all from the Alexandria, VA plant, mostly from the 1880s and 90s. All these bottles were produced by blowing them into a mold and finishing them off by hand. Each is described below with measurements in inches, diameter x height:

1) Aqua blob-top, round-bottom, 2 1/4 x 8 1/2, oval slug(name) plate, single-diamond Tivoli (Tivoli was put on beer bottles, Hygeia on soda bottles), 1890s…$30

2) Unearthed, aqua blob top, punt(concave)-bottom, 2 1/4 x 7 1/2, oval slug plate, single-diamond Tivoli, 1880s…SOLD

3) Clear crown-top, round-bottom, 2 1/4 x 8 1/4, oval slug plate, double-diamond Tivoli, 1900s…SOLD

4) Pristine aqua blob-top, punt-bottom, 2 3/4 x 9, no slug plate border, double-diamond Tivoli, 1890s…$30

5) Amazing aqua blob-top w/ “Lightning” stopper (very rare), punt-bottom, 3 x 10 1/4, no slug plate border, double-diamond Tivoli, factory swirl in glass, 1890’s…$110

6) Unearthed with iridescent hues, Hutchinson “Hutch” type bottle, aqua blob-top, punt-bottom, stopper pieces inside, 2 1/4 x 6 3/4, oval slug plate, double-diamond Tivoli, 1880s, bruise on rear…$15

7) Unearthed with iridescent hues, light green blob-top, punt-bottom, 2 3/4 x 9 1/4, no border, double-diamond Tivoli, 1890s…$20

8) Aqua Hutch blob-top, punt-bottom, 2 1/4 x 6 3/4, oval-border, single-diamond Hygeia (Greek Goddess of health), early 1880s…$45

9) Light green Hutch blob-top, punt-bottom, 2 3/8 x 7 1/4, oval border, single-diamond Tivoli, 1890s, chip near base..$15

The 7 remaining bottle add up to $265. Buy all 7 for $200!
