Perkins Pacific is looking for an experienced and dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Ridgefield, WA.
What you will do:
•Provide problem solving/troubleshooting/machine engineering solutions for OEM, after-market and internal customers.
•Perform mechanical design duties for parts manufacturing to facilitate engineering change orders.
•Provide mechanical design support on engine tier upgrades for OEM and after-market customers.
•Manage project to meet or exceed customer expectation for deliverables and technical content.
•Manage project budget to minimize costs.
•Order material as required to complete projects providing detailed descriptions of order.
•Make technical decisions for specific products to be used for and assembly and build.
•Provide installation and technical material to customer to define all components we are supplying as part of our scope.
•Provide shop instructions to prepare all sold equipment to scope as sold.
•Work with shop to insure quality control and that equipment meets or exceeds scope of project as sold.
•Review all on site testing data for compliance with specification and engine manufactures requirements.
•Ensure all installation discrepancies are documented.
•Monitor overall job costs and hours spent versus budget and report discrepancies to Sales.
What we need from you:
•Must have 8-10 years of experience in electrical & mechanical engineering
•A solid understanding of diesel engines and application of diesel engines.
•High degree of electrical aptitude
•Strong critical thinking, reasoning and problem-solving skills
•General Office Skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel
•Proficient in 2D & 3D software platforms and drawings
•Ability to read, analyze electrical drawings/schematics, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
•Good mathematical skills, including the ability to calculate figures and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
•Knowledge and skills in industrial machining and manufacturing environment
•Good organizational and project management skills
•Attention to detail
•Good oral communication and phone skills
•Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
•AA/AS in engineering (required) with a BA/BS in engineering (preferred)
