It stores in a compact way, about 20" long. Fully extended, it is about 55.5" high when the legs are spread so that it stands by itself.
Wonderfully, it has a hand crank that will raise the height another 9" or so for that perfect image.
It has a handy rod that rotates and adjusts the pitch of the top, attachment plate to which one affixes the camera. It, and another control lever, lock into your position to insure the view you want - STAYS that way.
All the legs have "quick action" keepers that allow the legs to expand out, or collapse, and these keep this movement fast and secure.
