I build Picnic Tables to last. I have been building tables for individuals and restaurants for many years now and I am back at it this year. A little about the process.... I will hand pick all my woods and only use DECKMATE screws because they are coated and last. I use kiln dried woods on all projects and its either White Wood, Doug fir or Hem fir unless agreed upon in our contract. I sand and then stain with MinWax and clear with MinWax Helmsmen Polyurethane outdoor UV protected, colors can be found on website under oil base.... Minwax.com stains. this process can be tricky because if its raining and cold the clear and stain don't dry and cant be handled till they do. 99% 0f my screws are hidden under the tables. if they are screwed from top that captures water and rots the wood.
