I have been teaching adults and children social dance since 1997 in Portland and Vancouver. After a number of week long workshops in CI (contact improv) I am offering a introduction to ecstatic dance and contact improvisation class (90 minutes). We will actually start with contemplative dance which involves an introduction to ecstatic dance, a short meditation, a warm up, a dance, some CI exercises and a cool down.
When enough people have taken this introductory class we hope to be able to organize a regular dance here in Vancouver \ Clark County.

The Ecstatic dance introductory class is $60 for 1-3 people or $20 per person for 4 or more. Ecstatic dance is also called sacred dance.
If you do want to dance / perform at your wedding or for New Years Eve. The sooner you start preparing the choreography the better. I recommend Nightclub Two-Step, Country two-Step or Waltz for your wedding dance but Blues, Cha-Cha, American Tango, Salsa, Fox-Trot, East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, hustle and other dances can all work well. The main point is to look great and have fun!
