Many of these smaller-sized maple slabs were sawn from the butt cut of the curly maple tree. They may feature some birds eye or tiger maple. Because of the grain structure, they don't tend to check or split as much as other slabs. They are 2 in. thick. The moisture content is 10-13%. Priced at $6/bd-ft.
