This is a signature model for Ricky Skaggs’ right hand guitar man with Kentucky Thunder, Cody Kilby. here teams up with The PRS Private Stock team built a powerhouse model that’s well balanced to a T and handsomely done. This beauty has jaw-dropping Cocobolo back and sides and Red Spruce on top. The neck is Peruvian Mahogany and the board and other fittings are ebony.The sides are shorter than PRS’s standard dimensions, making this guitar even more comfortable in hand, and the setup is delightfully effortless.
Kilby opted for Abalone position markers reminiscent of old school banjos rather than the more common PRS birds. It is nicely done with plenty of green abalone and black purfling, as well as curly maple binding. Finished off with a high gloss nitro finish. Lastly, the PRS acoustic pickup array has been included with a volume knob inside the soundhole.
It is complete with the original PRS Private Stock Certificate and high end Ameritage Acoustic case.
Offered here for 20% less than the only other example I can find for sale anywhere....And that other one has some repairs. I believe the original pricing on this was over $10,000.
