This home is equipped for long stays. The room is on the first floor, has plenty of daylight, a wood floor, sit-stand desk, armchair, queen bed with nightstand, dresser, closet, all linens/towels, and full attached private bathroom. The main room area is 10.5 ft x 10.9 ft, but the total area (main area, closet, bathroom) is 187 square feet. Ample common areas are shared with up to 2 other professionals staying in the other rooms.
Located in a friendly older neighborhood near the best of Uptown Vancouver.
Since the owner lives in the separate Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU), tenants effectively have the house to themselves:
*Laundry room: front loading washer and dryer, iron, ironing board, drying rack
*Kitchen: gas stove and oven, microwave, dishwasher, garbage disposal, all expected gear for cooking/eating, coffee grinder/brewer. Common consumables are always provided: dish soap, scrubbers, washcloths, cloth towels, paper towels, dishwasher pods, food storage containers, garbage bags
*Dining room: 6 seats at large table
*Living room: smart TV, gas fireplace, cards, games, books, throw blankets
*Garage: storage for bicycle, luggage, furniture, etc.
*Patio/backyard: adirondack chairs, table, barbeque, raised bed for growing vegetables (if you wish)
*Parking: two driveway spots and plenty of curbside space, all free
*Outdoor security cameras (no indoor cameras for tenant privacy)
*Cleaning supplies are available for all parts of the house.
*Central heating/cooling, fast Wi-Fi
Some important house rules for the benefit of all house guests:
*No smoking, vaping, or illegal drugs are allowed on premises (indoor or outdoor)
*Quiet hours are 10pm to 7am to ensure everyone can sleep peacefully
*No pets or aquariums allowed
*Each tenant is allowed up to two daytime guests up to 7 days per month and one overnight guest up to 7 nights per month, with the owner approving exceptions.
*Only 1 motor vehicle is allowed per resident
*Every 3-8 weeks the owner or a paid service will do a maintenance/safety check of the common areas and perform any needed work/cleaning
About me: I have owned this home since 2022, grew up in Oregon, am an engineer in his mid-50's, and love animals and the great outdoors.
If interested, here's the application process:
1. Contact me so we can chat about the room. If you are in the area, I can give you an in-person tour. If not, I can give you a virtual tour.
2. If the room is a good fit for your needs, I will send you a list of all house rules.
3. If the rules are acceptable to you, I will send an application and a link to authorize a credit/rental/criminal history check (costs ~$40): I am looking for a credit score 700 or above, no rental history problems, no criminal record, and before-tax income at least 3 times rent.
4. After the check passes, I will have you sign the lease.
5. When the lease is signed and initial payment completed, you are free to move in!
