Small professional design and manufacturing firm is looking for a part-time accounting manager who is proficient in Peachtree or similar accounting software, Word and Excel. Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent preferred, with 5 years’ accounting experience in a professional firm. This is a one-person accounting position, which reports to the office manager and company’s controller. Responsibilities include G/L, A/R, A/P, P/R, inventory & purchasing.
We are looking for an honest, hardworking individual that will bring their experience and skills to this position – strong attention to details, able to multitask, able to work independently and complete work accurately. Ours is a positive, friendly environment in Portland’s Pearl district, with easy access to bus and Max lines.
Duties: Maintain financial records, including general ledger, accounts receivable and payable including check, ACH and wire transfer payments, inventory and bi-monthly payroll
Coordinate purchasing and maintenance of computers, office equipment and supplies
Facilitate use of Peachtree by sales and production staff
Handle bank accounts, insurance renewals and audits and some vendor relations
Prepare and file payroll tax deposits, payroll and property tax returns, and workers comp reports
Coordinate and track employee benefits
Maintain phone contact with some clients and vendors
Occasional assistance with project and client correspondence and project related spreadsheets
Typically this is a half-time position, with work performed at our office 2-3 days a week during regular office hours (8-5, M-F).
