This is a special bicycle. It was hand built by Antonio Mondonico in Italy in 1994 prior to his retirement and handing over the business to his son. Antonio passed away in 2023 at the age of 94. He created a high number of Tour de France bicycles during his career, of which this is a prime example of one of his. This bicycle was shipped to me in bare metal form and subsequently painted in 77 Corvette Yellow with a Silver Pearl Overlay and a Clear Coat over all of the supplied decals, including one with his signature. The embossed metal stampings were carefully detailed with the painting. This is a 58cm frame (seat tube height) with 27" Mavic Wheels and Vittoria Open Corso gumwall tires. This bike is in concours condition and has been shown at the Concorso Italiano in Carmel California. It is equipped with Campagnolo "Record" components with the exception of a lighter Edco Competition Crankset and a Cinelli titanium stem. Shimano step in pedals. Cost $7200 new, selling for $4900. Exquisite, no wear. An amazing collectors machine/classic racing bicycle.
