Welcome and thanks for checking out this custom built Hi Mod. I had this framed source for me because it was the last of the most beautiful high end Cannondales. Everything that came after were built to look “Technical“ with flat edges and asymmetric frame angles which lose the beautiful symmetry of the bicycle. Level top tubes are always more aerodynamic! Compact was just the marketing craze. Now Cannondale is going back to level top tubes again!
I had this bike built because I was flying to the East Coast twice a month, and wanted to leave a bike there with a riding partner. My mechanic told me what a great bike the high mod is and that I had a level top tube to boot. So I was able to find one of these frames in absolutely mint condition. No scuffs or scratches, bright glossy paint. I started putting together the parts for it. Since it was going to be a spare bike, I went for Force instead of Red. I still have a Red kit in a box available separately. I found a pair of extremely light vision 30 team wheels and the world’s best riding tires, Victoria Corsa tubulars. I finished out the cockpit with a Zipp seat post, new Fizik saddle, and K-Force carbon aero bars. It also has a ceramic bottom bracket, and the pedals spin effortlessly, dead smooth.
I developed back problems I could no longer fly, so I never even got to sit on this bike. It has 0 miles on it.
