So, this b is like your mom, but less ridden..
No dents, no scratches.
Fits between seats of your car with just front wheel off.
This is the absolute smallest (also therefore lightest)
steel frame a 6' rider can fit.
Under 20lbs, easy to carry up stairs, load on a roofrack etc.
Race XC with the seat all the way up
or go dirtjump or hit the pumptrack with seat slammed down.
Bunny hops like a champ and easy to pop a wheely with such a light front end.
Built up light with top of the line XT parts, STX-RC cranks
(picked for their compliance that matches the rear triangle for a smoother out of the saddle ride over rough)
and Mavic double-walled wheels (fully serviced over-winter) from a much newer Kona Kahuna
that got upgraded to disc. New 1.95" Kenda XC tires.
Have built up in many iterations over the years,
letting it fly 3x8 super-stock.. as in way better then released.
will fit up to 2.2" tires without having to release air, up to 2.5"
if you release the air and inflate the tire once in frame/fork (to clear brake posts).
Shifts like butter, brakes on a dime
1-1/8"steer tube for plenty of suspension fork options..
(best with 75-80mm travel forks, but fun with up to 100mm where you start feeling the rake)
Currently setup for 5'9" to 6' rider (long stem), can conceivably fit down to 4'6" rider with a short stem.
Whisper quiet, fully tuned, this thing hauls balls.. with top pedaling speed of around 40mph.
