3T Ultra Gravel Adventure Race Frameset, size 61 cm, color Indigo + extras (see below)
Excellent condition, original owner, ridden for a period of about 1.5 years, swapping with other bikes, so there is ~1400 miles on
the bike at most. Never crashed, well-taken care of. Shows regular signs of wear, mostly small nicks in the clear coat, and there's a
spot (see photo) where I had a bottle cage which allowed the water bottle to rub on the frame, and it when through the clear coat
before I caught it. I replaced the cage with one that had the bottle sit up higher, eliminating the issue.
This aero gravel frameset by 3T is designed around 650b x 61 mm tires or 700c x 45 mm tires. The frameset is flexible and compliant where it should be, and stiff where it needs to be. The bike syncs perfectly with one’s pedal strokes, acting as a kind of energy return. There is NO lost power to a frame which is overly stiff in the wrong places. 3T was co-owned by Gerard Veroom, co-founder of Cervelo and OPEN bicycles. Veroom exited 3T in 2025, however, the Ultra is very much of his design.
As the original owner of the bike, I used it mostly for local laps, and a few out-of-town adventures. Never been on a car rack, or flown on a plane, only transported in the back of my vehicle. I’ve had the bike for about 1.5 years, though only rode it during the warmer and drier months (May to October). The frame and fork are in excellent condition, only showing signs of very light cosmetics wear from general riding.
Designed as an adventure bike, the 3T Ultra works equally well for gravel or road racing. Or would set up well for bike packing when you still want to cover ground as efficiently as possible. It’s a gravel bike in its ability to fit wider tires, though the geometry (see specs below) is more race-oriented. With steeper HA and SA, and shorter chain stays and wheelbase. The bike rides fast, while also being able to fulfill many functions.
Includes Cane Creek integrated headset, carbon 27.2 x 350 mm seat post with clamps for 7x7 and 7x9 carbon and steel saddle rails, Wheels Manufacturing 386EVO (thread-together) bottom bracket with ABEC-3 bearings for Sram DUB crank spindles (or I also have a Wheels Mfg 386EVO for 30mm spindle and Angular Contact bearings, if you use 30mm spindle cranks), and brand new set of 3T fenders (still in their original box). Plus all original hardware (thru-axles, etc.). The steering tube has the full 40 mm height allowed under the stem clamp, coupled with the bike’s tall 632 mm stack, this bike is great for taller riders and/or riders who like the option of having their bars higher. One of the biggest difference between the Ultra and the Racemax is the latter has a longer Reach. I am a tall ride and used an 80 mm stem on the Ultra, so adding a longer stem if that's your preference would be easy.
