I am downsizing my bike stable and offering this Mercian frameset for sale. I believe this is a "King of Mercia" model, likely from the early to mid 80s. Reynolds 531c tubing throughout (lighter than regular 531).
- 57cm seat tube (c-c) and 57cm top tube (c-c)
- 126mm rear spacing but could easily work with modern 130mm wheelsets
- fits at least 32mm tires, likely 35mm but I don't have any of those to test
- Campagnolo rear dropouts
- some light patina and paint chips/scrapes here and there but overall in full working order
- includes frame, fork, headset, seat binder bolts, and nothing else
Great condition with the following two notes: 1) One small ding on the top tube, tried to capture it in the last photo just to the left of the cable guide braze-on, but it's so tiny it's hard to photograph. 2) Right rear dropout had a hairline crack, but was professionally repaired by Bantam and is now sturdy as can be.
