JOB SUMMARY: The Extended Day Reading Coordinator will work with the SUN Site Manager and Creston's teachers and administration to enroll students in an after-school reading program, prepare reading materials, manage and coordinate after school tutors 2 to 3 afternoons a week. This is a temporary position from January 6th 2020 to June 4, 2020.

Starting hourly: $20hr.
Location: Creston Elementary School
Schedule: After-school classes 4:00-5:20pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday

 Supervise and instruct small groups of children ages 5-13.
 Track and ensure academic and behavioral development of students.
 Act as a positive role-model for students.
 Ensure students are in a safe environment.
 Enroll students in the after-school reading program.
 Prepare reading materials.
 Manage and coordinate after school tutors.


 Experience and willingness to provide learning activities to students in after school environments.
 Experience working with school-aged children from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
 Ability to coordinate with and manage other adults in a collaborative manner.
 Be responsive to phone calls and emails from SUN staff, Tutors, Creston Teachers, Admin. and Parents.
 Willing to work one-on-one with students who have special needs (inclusionary services).
 Desire and ability to work with children to ensure an enriching, positive, and safe classroom setting. Work on goals involving school-age choice and youth leadership development.
 Ability to effectively work within a strength-based, emotionally-safe, integrated youth support service delivery system.
 Ability to document work continually and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
 Possess strong organizational and time-management skills and ability to prioritize and complete multiple and varied tasks.
 Sensitivity and ability to relate to people from diverse lifestyles, socioeconomic levels, and cultures.
 Willingness to work as a team member and support the mission and goals of Impact NW.
 Must be able to complete and pass an Oregon Background check including fingerprinting prior to start date.
