Some glass insulators are over 100 years old and pre-date the civil war. They are relics of an old technology. They were mounted on telephone poles running parallel to railroad tracks and had telegraph lines and electrical wire connected to them for telegraph and telephone communication purposes. They have a historical significance to the telecom industry, linemen, transportation and trains. Made in the USA and are no longer manufactured.
