Position Summary:

The Accounting Assistant supports Home Forward's strategic and operational objectives in the following way: To perform responsible office, administrative, and accounting duties within an assigned department or division; to relieve assigned manager of accounting and administrative work; to provide information and assistance to Home Forward clients, partners, and the general public; assist with processing accounts payable and reimbursement requests, receipts, invoices, and other transactions; enter and review data, and create and process documents and correspondence. In this context, the incumbent in this position will collaborate with others at all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders in the consideration of significant goals, concepts, initiatives, and other activities that profoundly affect Home Forward, its employees, and the people that it serves.

This position will support the Community Services department and will be stationed at Hollywood East Apartments located at:

1605 NE 45th Avenue
Portland, OR 97213

Qualifications:

Education & Experience Guidelines: Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Education: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by accounting or business course work or training.

Experience: Three years of increasingly responsible office and customer service experience, with one year of accounting experience.

Physical Demands and Working Environment: The conditions herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Environment: Normal office setting; exposure to computer screens with some travel to attend meetings.

Physical: Incumbents require sufficient mobility to work in an office setting and operate office equipment; sit for extended periods of time; perform repetitive motion of hands and wrists.

Vision: Vision sufficient to read small print, computer screens and other printed documents.
