Spring is just about here, and while there is still rain to help get these beautiful ferns acclimated before summer, NOW is the perfect time to transplant some of these magnificent, iconic Oregon beauties from our forest to your yard
"Ferns Not Lawns" is a small family operation, specializing & licensed in both wholesale & retail sales of sustainably & ethically harvested Swordferns, of any size. Additionally, we've recently added hollow mossy stump planters, in addition to sword ferns...
We supply individuals, nurseries, landscapers, general contractors, property managers, realtors... really, anyone or any outfit seeking inexpensive but impressive curb appeal for a shady location...
Our lush ferns all come from near our forever home, a woodsy cabin, located deep inside Oregon's very own temperate rain forest, the coast range! Just 25 miles from the Pacific Ocean, our home location naturally grows perfect ferns, unmatched anywhere in size and fullness!
Our largest sized ferns, when spread, reach beyond a full sized 6×8 truck bed.
Every one of our Swordferns is ethically harvested just prior to delivery, carefully sized to your order, the largest are wrapped gently to prevent frond damage, and delivered (free) by truck to you, looking great, bare rooted & ready for transplanting!
All of our giant ferns are meticulously bundled & trussed. We take the time to do this because it prevents frond damage during delivery and transplanting, and because many of our customers are adding ground cover under them: bark dust, bark chips, pebbles, gravel, mulch, dirt, fertilizer, etc., and having them sticking straight up, until the customer is ready for them to flop down, is a huge time saver for any ground cover installation process.
