The CT Technologist performs imaging procedures according to physician's orders, utilizing knowledge and judgment in regard to exposure factors, imaging technique, and pient trement.

Responsibilities:IMAGING: Provides quality images with accuracy and efficiency, using optimal skills and knowledge of all equipment.
Competency in the field of CT.
Positions pient for diagnostic imaging according to department procedures, training, and machine requirements.
Operes imaging equipment, determines and sets exposure factors, sets technique utilizing all relevant factors to ensure accure and quality images with minimal and acceptable repe res.
Uses computer image processing to select and optimize images.
Processes and presents images and reled pient informion to radiologist for diagnosis.
Assists with pient transport by moving pients using standard procedures.
DOCUMENTATION: Ghers complete documention of all pertinent informion to provide accure and timely service to customers.
Identifies pient by checking pient's I.D., full name and medical record number according to department procedure.
Reviews pient chart and orders to insure correct examinion.
Labels images completely with demographic, position and other needed
documention.
Logs activities, ghers charging informion and charges exams as required.
Follows department and hospital procedures and policies.
Performs quality control and quality assurance, records results and reports variance from normal equipment function.
Performs medicion reconciliion on pients receiving IV contrast media.
PERSONAL & PATIENT CARE AND SAFETY: Provides for personal and pient care and safety using professional judgment in accordance with written standards so there is no injury to self or others.
Protects pients and others in the area by using proper machine settings and radiion safety standards.
Practices universal and blood and body fluid precautions, and sterile practices according to procedures.
Communices and uses knowledge of reled anomy and physiology to insure approprie and effective care to neone, pediric, adolescent, adult and geriric pients.
Maintains awareness of pient stus and takes approprie actions to meet their needs.
Starts IV’s using proper technique and administers medicions under the direction of the LIP.
PROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOR: Practices professional communicions, appearance, conduct, punctuality, tendance and titude th leads to physician, pient and co-worker respect and confidence.
Informs and educes pient and/or family of all needed informion concerning the exam performed.
Uses professional judgment and presents a professional image of competency to customer and staff.

Handles stressful situions in ways th promote positive outcomes.
Takes personal initiive to maintain current in educion (journals, books, inservices seminars, etc.) in all specialty areas assigned.

Qualificions:Educion:
As required to obtain ARRT.
Experience:
One year previous experience in the field of CT preferred.
Skills:
Keyboard skills and ability to navige electronic systems applicable to job functions.
Licensure:Nional registrion with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiology (ARRT-R) or Nuclear Medicine (ARRT-N) required. CT certificion (ARRT-CT) required within six months of job placement. Current ste license in Radiography or Nuclear Medicine required for all employees who perform this job in the ste of Oregon. Current Radiologic Technologist Certificion required for all employees who perform this job in the ste of Washington. AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers.
