A little about me:
I'm a loving, patient and energetic childcare professional with 30 years of experience. I specialize in care for infants and toddlers. I live in a townhouse in a small, quiet neighborhood in SE Portland, off Stark Street between 148th and 162nd. With easy access to both the I-5 and 205 freeways

I offer a cozy, homey atmosphere for a small group of infants and toddlers. I give them lots of TLC and one on one care. I want the kids in my care to feel at home, like they're hanging out with friends. I'm not rigid in structure but offer enough so that the children feel comfortable and secure. I strive to provide a positive, nurturing and safe environment as well as offer age appropriate, stimulating and fun activities.

Our days include arts and crafts, story-time, building blocks, puzzles, independent play, music, and playtime with friends. We also do special crafts and activities for holidays. Two to three days a week, I offer preschool activities beginning around age 3. Some kids are ready sooner.. I'm fairly laid back with it and work according to how well the kids "focus and pay attention" on a given day~ what they don't finish here, they can finish at home...kids seem to actually like 'homework' at this age! 😊

I serve "kid friendly" yet healthy meals, which typically include foods from each food group. I enjoy cooking and the children often benefit from many home made, fresh foods. I believe that introducing good food to young children encourages them to enjoy a variety of wonderful, healthy foods as they grow. The kids in my care have always been great eaters!

I have a fenced backyard with a patio perfect for play, a small play structure, outdoor toys, a little kids pool for cooling off and a kid size picnic table for lunch time picnics when the sun is out.

In my care, children also learn about Love, Respect, Sharing, Friendship and much more just through our day to day interaction and play with each other. I believe it's very important for kids to learn to respect others, show appreciation and to be grateful. I believe it's my responsibility, as a provider, to help parents instill values in children that will help them become loving and responsible in life, and I strongly believe it all begins at this young age.

I have been a "second mom" to many great kids over the past 30+ years and I look forward to the opportunity to talk with you about care for your little ones.
