My name is Jesse: my life's work is to share the world of guitar by curating a rewarding and engaging guitar experience for anyone with interest in the instrument. I teach private lessons to a roster of Portlanders, and I have space for you to join the community!
If you mention this offer when you enroll in one month of lessons at Portland Guitar Academy, you will receive your second month of private lessons with me absolutely FREE. This is the best possible time to sign up!
Guitar may be a totally new adventure for you, or perhaps you've taken lessons in the past but didn't see the consistent growth you'd envisioned. I'm here to guide you through those firsts steps or help you work past any obstacles you have run into so that playing is fun, engaging, and meaningful.
Over the years of had the privilege of studying music under amazing teachers and in great programs like Lewis and Clark College and Pyramind Studios in San Fransisco. As a lifelong student and teacher, it is my pleasure to bring students the best of the musical education that I have personally enjoyed and benefited from.
My philosophy is to meet each student 'where they are' when they walk in the door. Some students have specific songs they'd like to master. I can show you how to properly organize your portfolio of repertoire and introduce you to the professional methods of breaking down and mastering each section of a piece.
*If your goal is to make fast progress at technical guitar playing, I will set out a specific practice routine and schedule for you to follow so there is no mystery about what you need to do to improve quickly.
*If your goal is to study and appreciate a specific genre like Jazz or Classical, I'll walk you through a curriculum of genre specific studies that will provide an engaging and enriching experience that is appropriate for your skill level.
*If you're goal is to increase the speed and expressiveness of your solos, I will help demystify the scales, modes, and arpeggios that may have be presenting difficultly and give you a system of mapping the fretboard that actually works.
I see myself as a guide and a co-facilitator who is here to put a path in front of you, but also adapts the course of study to meet your evolving interests and needs. You can find my reviews on the Portland Guitar Academy Google page or on the testimonials section of our website and see why people are raving about their newfound success with guitar. The consistent feedback I've heard over the years is that my method 'just makes sense' and that 'motivation is easy now that I know what to work on.'
In summary, I work with you as an individual and craft a program that fits your experience level, schedule, and goals. The details of everyone’s lessons will be different, but the value the same; you will have everything you need to succeed with guitar.
That cover my introduction. Thank YOU for your interest in pursuing guitar. It provides so much to anyone who gives it an earnest shot, and it is my absolute favorite thing in the world.
I'd love to book you for a FREE intro session this week so that we can further discuss how I can best support your journey with guitar. Shoot me a message by hitting the reply button and we can get you on your way to taking advantage of your second FREE month of lessons.
