Late 60s Framus Texan the label in the sound hole was mostly missing and was a mess so I saved the only corner left and lightly sanded out what was remaining
Looks 100% better I’ve dated it to a ‘67-‘69.my guess is a ‘68.
Lots of organic play wear!
Gives it a great vibe!
Can’t find a good 60s guitar for this price ?
Here it is.
One hell of a deal people
Players guitar all the way!
Please look closely at the pic’s
Wear on the back of the neck and players wear on the front. Neck feels fenderish.
There is a name on the upper treble bout( looks more like wear)
Done a long time ago. Doesn’t detract
I think adds another layer history.
I have never figured it out.
But looks to be Eastern European which makes some sense as they are made in Germany.
I replace the tuners with all parts cover 60s repros.(ones installed were wrong)
Another very odd thing is that this had a double pickguard. holes are hard to see due to the years of wear but they are a perfect match to its mate.
They didn’t make these with double PG’s
As far as I know. So could have been an employees one off.?
Has a modified bridge but similar to the original.
Plays great. Sounds pretty big due to the arched back.
Has great overtones. Has sort of a Tom Petty sound to it. Kind of a jangle.
Price is firm ..find another one that plays this well? Extremely doubtful
Thanks
